Pastoral Care

Pastoral care is a ministry of reaching out with Christ's love to those in our family who are experiencing changes or challenges in their lives. Pastoral care ministers are trained to approach those needing our support with compassion and kindness. Pastoral care offerings at Good Shepherd include:

Flower ministry - smaller bouquets from the Sunday altar flowers are delivered to hospitals, care facilities, or homes.

Visitation ministry - parishioners visit those in hospitals, care facilities, or homebound.

Eucharistic visitor ministry - lay people licensed by the bishop deliver communion from the Sunday service to homebound or hospitalized parishioners.

Prayer shawl ministry - parishioners who knit shawls, throws, and blankets to be given to the ill, grieving, or otherwise challenged. This group also knits baby blankets that are given to newly baptized infants.

Intercessor ministry - parishioners who pray daily for the physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of those who have requested our support.

Transportation ministry - van service for parishioners who need transportation to and from church. Contact Paul Arrington at
